BOISE-- The Boise State Athletic department announced on Monday that Bronco Sports Properties has signed a partnership with Groove Entertainment Technologies, a local full-service provider of DIRECTV.

Boise State football is scheduled to be televised on four networks in 2011. ESPN, Versus, The Mtn., and CBS College Sports are currently scheduled to carry BSU's games. DIRECTV is currently the only local provider that carries all four of those networks. Cable One carries ESPN, Versus, and The Mtn., while DISH Network carries ESPN, Versus, and CBS College Sports.

So just how many households will be able to watch Boise State games this season? According to Nielsen Ratings and KTVB research, nearly three of four households currently will not be able to watch the Broncos play every game this season.

It all depends on what network is carrying the game. Of the four channels that the Broncos will play on, ESPN is seen by the most people in southern Idaho at 71 percent. Versus is seen in 32 percent of homes, The Mtn. in 30 percent, and CBS College Sports is seen in just nine percent of homes across southern Idaho.

These statistics, which could change as the season approaches, indicate that 68 percent of local households will not be able to watch every Boise State game televised in the 2011 season.
