BOISE -- When the Boise State football team agreed to enter the Mountain West Conference, it didn't exactly feel like they were thrown a welcoming party.
At the time, the conference stripped them of a tradition that is recognized across the country -- wearing their all-blue uniforms during home games on the famous blue turf.
This past off-season though, the rule barring teams from matching the color of their uniforms to their field was finally scrapped.
So, for the first time in Mountain West play, Boise State will wear their blue on the blue Friday night as the Broncos welcome the Air Force Falcons.
The players say it will give them an extra pep in their step come kickoff.
Additionally, fans in the stands are being asked to wear blue for the game, creating a blue-out effect.
Kickoff for Friday's game is set for 6 p.m. It will air nationally on ESPN.
