BOISE -- The Boise State basketball team, and its new head coach Leon Rice, opened the regular season with a 78-52 win over Western State on Saturday night.
The Broncos got off to a bit of a slow start, but took the lead for good on a Reggie Arnold bucket at the 14:21 mark of the first half. Arnold had 16 on the night, but he wasn't the only senior making a difference.
BSU was lead in the scoring department by senior LaShard Anderson who poured in 20 points, added 6 assists and grabbed five rebounds.
Boise State's stud off the bench was Paul Noonan. The senior from Beaverton, Oregon had 9 points all from behind the arc where he was 3-of-4 on the night.
The Broncos are off until next Friday (11/19) when they hit the road to take on the University of San Diego and then on Sunday (11/21)they take on UC Davis before returning home to take on Eastern Washington on the 24th.
