BOISE--  The Boise State softball team gave up two runs in the seventh, and five in the eighth, as the Broncos fell, 8-5, to Nevada in eight innings.

The Broncos were in perfect position to take their second straight win over Nevada, leading 3-1 going into the final inning.  But the Wolf Pack was able to get two runners in scoring position in the seventh.  With two outs, Karley Hopkins, the Mountain West Conference hits leader, singled to left field and scored both runners to tie the game.

Boise State could not manage to score in the bottom of the seventh, and the game went to extra innings.

Nevada came out with hot bats in the eighth, including a three-run homerun, and managed to take an 8-3 lead into the bottom half of the inning.  Boise State could only manage two runs in response, and lost the game.

Both teams will square off again Saturday at 1 p.m. at Dona Larsen Park.
