BOISE- The Boise State football team has a host of experience returning for the 2010 campaign, especially in the backfield.
The Broncos currently have eight running backs listed on the roster, three of which are returning starters. Jeremy Avery and Doug Martin will likely split time in the backfield. Junior D.J. Harper is also expected to see playing time after coming back from a knee injury.
"We feel good about a bunch of those guys back there, that we could win with them. A little bit of the problem is when you have them all healthy and ready to go," head coach Chris Petersen said. "There's only one football. So you've got to make some hard decisions in terms of maybe two guys that are going to be the 1-2 punch. Out of the gates, at least, and kind of figure out how everybody else fits in. So, we're working on that."
The Broncos will put that backfield to work for the first time on September 6 when they face Virginia Tech.
