BOISE- The Boise State football team and head coach Chris Petersen are well known for using any player at any time to get the job done. That game plan definitely applies to the tight ends, especially in big games.
The Broncos got two touchdown receptions from tight end Tommy Gallarda in a 28-21 road victory over Tulsa. Then in the 17-10 Fiesta Bowl win over TCU, it was tight end Kyle Efaw who caught the fourth down fake punt reception that sustained a game winning drive.
"We have a lot of experience in our group, which is great.," Gallarda said. "We've been able to play a lot together for a few years now. We have so many athletes on the offensive side of the ball that people might get lost in the shuffle. But every play we're out there we're still working hard. On the run game, on the pass game. So, whenever we get the chance to shine, we want to take that opportunity and stand out a little bit."
