Boise native Brian Scott is taking another big step in his racing career. On Sunday night during an interview on Sunday Sports Extra, Scott confirmed he will be moving from the NASCAR Truck Series Circuit to the NASCAR Nationwide series effective at the beginning of the 2010 season. Scott has joined Braun Racing and will be one of 4 drivers racing for Todd Braun this February when the Nationwide season begins.
In his 2nd full season on the Truck Series, Scott, finished 6th in the overall standings and won his first career race at Dover back in late June in his 39th professional start. Brian will leave Xpress Motorsports and his number 16 car, which will likely be taken over by another team. An annoucement about the future of Xpress Motor sports should be forthcoming in the next week or so.
As for Brian's new number, he's not quite sure what he'll have, but didn't appear to be too attached to 16. Brian's first race with his new team is February 13th at Daytona Speedway, in Daytona, Florida. Another nice aspect to the NASCAR Nationwide Series is it's TV deal with ESPN allows for every event to be televised on basic cable, so fans in his home town will have more access to his races.
