BOISE -- Boise State guard Derrick Marks has been named the player of the week in the Mountain West Conference.

Marks averaged 16.5 points per game last week in a close loss at No. 25 San Diego State and a victory at home against Wyoming.

In the 63-62 loss to the Aztecs, Marks scored 16 points, all in the second half, and dished out seven assists. Then against Wyoming, the sophomore had 17 points on 7 of 11 shooting to lift the Broncos (16-7, 4-5) to a 68-61 win.

He also finished the week 3 of 4 from behind the 3-point arc.

It's the second time Marks has been tapped for the conference honor this season.
