BOISE -- It's official.
Boise State starting quarterback Joe Southwick has decided to keep the much-discussed mustache he debuted last year.
And BSU's student association is promoting the heck out of it.
Southwick (some are now calling him "Stachewick") sported the 'stache for the final three games of the 2012 season. He brought it back a week ago after the stunning Huskie defeat. The Broncos then won 63-14 over UT Martin. That means the mustache is 4 - 0.
For Southwick, the mustache holds some sort of good luck status, or perhaps even some sort of magical prowess. During Monday's news conference, Southwick commented that his mustache even has its own "mojo."
What does this mean for the Broncos?
Well, if you're a Southwick fan, you might get a chance to wear one of the 1,000 blue mustaches ordered by BSU's student association. The mustaches are scheduled to arrive on Thursday.
The Boise State student body will be passing out blue fake mustaches at the student gate at Friday's matchup with Air Force.
The hope is that a little support and solidarity will keep the good 'mojo' coming.
