SEATTLE -- For the second time this month the Seahawks have signed a former Vandal following a rookie minicamp tryout.
Wide receiver and kick returner Justin Veltung inked with Seattle Thursday. He joins defensive end Benson Mayowa, who signed with the team May 13th, and linebacker Korey Toomer who was drafted in the 5th round in 2012.
The Puyallup native caught Pete Carroll's eye during a three-day tryout with fellow first-year players.
"Veltung did a nice job," the Seattle head coach said.
The Idaho record-holder is now with the team in Organized Team Activities.
During an injury-plagued career in Moscow Veltung racked up 62 grabs for 901 yards and eight touchdowns. His 1,743 kickoff return yards are the most in Vandal history. He finished his career 11th all-time with 2,972 all-purpose yards.
