NAMPA -- Officers have arrested an Arizona man in connection with a drive-by shooting that happened in Nampa Monday night.

Police say 22-year-old Logan Frans from Yuma, Arizona is charged with felony discharge of a firearm from a motor vehicle, and additional charges are pending.

Police Sergeant Tim Randall says the shooting happened around 9:35 p.m. after an argument between Frans and another man escalated into a violent confrontation with a 9mm handgun.

"Initially what it looks like is a verbal altercation," Randall told KTVB. "The suspect got a gun and went and found the victim again."

Randall say Frans fired a single shot from the passenger side of a vehicle as it sped past the victim's vehicle. Detectives say it appears both vehicles were driving in the same direction near Lone Star Road and Canyon Street when the single gunshot hit the victim's grill and radiator.

Police say no one was injured.

STANDOFF SITUATION

Detectives say a tip from the victim targeted in the shooting led them to a home on 12th Street South and 10th Avenue South where several suspects in the shooting were hiding from police.

Nampa Police officers along with the department's tactical response team gathered at the home around 5 a.m.

Frans and two other suspects inside the home eventually came out and were detained by police.

"Our tactical unit came out and set up on it, and they finally came out and gave up," Randall said.

That's when detectives say they recovered a handgun used in the shooting.

Police say the standoff situation ended around 8:25 a.m.

City streets in the immediate area were blocked for about two hours while police surrounded the home and detained the suspects.

Police say more charges are pending against Frans, and additional suspects could be arrested in connection with the shooting.
