A native Idahoan, Ysabel Bilbao is happy to be back in the Treasure Valley.

Ysabel was born and raised in Nampa, Idaho. She attended Nampa High School then transferred to Skyview High School to become the first graduating class in 1997.

Ysabel attended Arizona State University where she earned a broadcast journalism degree at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Telecommunications. During her time in college, Ysabel studied overseas at the University of the Basque Country just outside Bilbao, Spain. During her time in the Basque Country, Ysabel earned a Spanish minor and is now a fluent Spanish speaker.

Once she graduated Ysabel moved back to Boise and started working as an Associate Producer at KTVB Idaho's NewsChannel 7. After six months there, she got her first on-air job at KIFI Local News 8 in Idaho Falls. After surviving two winters in Eastern Idaho, it was time for Ysabel to return home.

She is excited to be back at KTVB, the station she grew up watching.

Ysabel is an active member of the Boise Basque Community. She grew up dancing with the Caldwell Basque Dancers and the Oinkari Basque Dancers. But after 20 years as a dancer, it was time to hang up her shoes and enjoy watching the groups perform at local events.

Ysabel is happy to be pursing her lifelong dream of being a reporter, especially here at home near her family.
