Jim Everett
CEO, Treasure Valley YMCA
Jim has been working for the YMCA since 1974 in Ohio, Michigan and Idaho. During that time, he has worked as a swim coach (where he has coached three National Champions and two World Record Holders), health and fitness director, aquatic director, preschool coordinator, and camp direct Jim implemented the district-wide physical education program in Benton Harbor, Michigan, served as a health consultant to the Idaho State Department of Education and co-founded the Youth Sports Commission in the Treasure Valley. Jim was also a delegate at the 1997 Presidents’ Summit in Philadelphia and an Olympic Torchbearer for the Salt Lake Olympics.
Stephanie Martin
Albertsons
Stephanie is director of communication for Albertsons. She loves sports, so she sticks with foods that help keep her fueled. Whether she's on the water, taking a kick-boxing class or just watching football on the couch, she enjoys healthy foods that fill her up. But she also believes that "all foods fit," as evidenced by her daily indulgence in dessert! One of her favorite things about Albertsons is the Healthy Eaters program, which teaches young children about nutrition and how to make healthy food choices.
Nancy Rush
Central District Health Department
Nancy Rush, is a Registered Dietitian and Program Manager for Community Health Promotion and Education at Central District Health Department. She serves as Co-Chair of the Action for Healthy Kids Idaho steering committee, which engages school staff and parents to implement physical activity and/or nutrition improvements at their children’s school to prevent childhood obesity. Through a grant from the William J. Kellogg Foundation, projects supported by Action for Healthy Kids Idaho include building a school track and acquiring and stocking a dairy foods vending machine. Partnering with schools to serve school breakfast and to provide employee wellness programs will be the 2010-2011 focus. She has three grown children and four grandchildren.
Stacy Beeson
St. Luke's Health System
Stacy Beeson is the corporate wellness and outpatient dietitian at St Luke’s. She develops corporate wellness programs and counsels adults and children covering a broad range of nutrition issues. She has a weekly radio program on 94.9 The River and a weekly nutrition segment on KTVB Channel 7 noon news. Stacy has been a dietitian for 15 years and has worked in Colorado, Hawaii, Alaska and New Zealand. Her past positions include corporate dietitian for Albertsons Grocery Stores and working as a dietitian in private practice. Aside from her career in dietetics, she also spent time as a park ranger in Alaska and Hawaii.
Colleen Fillmore
Idaho Dept. of Education
Colleen Fillmore, "PhD, RD, LD works at the Idaho State Department of Education as the State Director for the Child Nutrition Programs. She received her PhD in Adult Education and Learning at the University of Idaho, Master in Human Nutrition at the University of Nebraska Lincoln and Food Science Management at Idaho State University. In addition, Dr. Fillmore is also certified through the ADA (American Dietetic Association) as a weight management consultant. Colleen is a registered and licensed dietitian and has worked in the USDA Child Nutrition Programs for twenty five years at both the school district and state agency level. Colleen has done extensive research on the Boise Basque Dietary Culture and published a book in 200 titled, "Basque of Boise: Adult Dietary Culture and Tradition."
Pat Stewart
Idaho Dept. of Education
Over thirty years of experience working in the field of health and physical education. Current Director of the Idaho Coordinated School Health Program in the Idaho Department of Education; thirteen years in the South Dakota Department of Education as a program director managing federal programs including Coordinated School Health Programs, Equal Education Opportunities and Bilingual Education. Thirteen years as health and physical educator in school districts.
Christy Smith
Boise School District
Christy is a Registered Dietitian and an Area Manager for Boise Schools Food & Nutrition Services. Her current tasks include personnel management, nutrition education for students, staff and parents, and planning healthy menus. Christy has worked for Boise Schools now for 2 years. Before working with the school district, she was a nutrition counselor at Boise State University, teaching students and staff the benefits of healthy food choices. While at BSU, she also served as an Adjunct Faculty Member for the Culinary Arts Program teaching nutrition and healthy cooking techniques to chefs in training.
