BOISE – A suspicious package found underneath a vehicle at the building that houses the Bureau of Reclamation has turned out to be a false alarm.

An employee spotted the package around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday and the Bureau of Homeland Security was called to investigate. It was in a locked, gated government parking lot. The Bureau of Reclamation offices are on Curtis Road, just north of Interstate 84.

A robot was brought in to check out the package.

Deputy Regional Director Steven Jarsky says a male employee apparently dropped his sack lunch without noticting it was under the vehicle. He admits it was a disruption, but necessary to take this precaution to ensure their employees' safety.

There were no evacuations during this incident. The all clear was given around 3:30 p.m.
