BOISE -- Strong winds blew through Boise Saturday night and left damage in their wake.

Winds of up to 25 to 30 miles per hour, with gusts up to 50 miles per hour, wound their way through parts of southwest Idaho.

In Boise, an old, tall tree couldn't stand up against that strong of a wind.

It blew over, right on top of a fence and over a power pole on Union Street near the Military Reserve in Boise.

That force snapped a second power pole in two.

Lela Wells has lived in the home for 70 years.

She heard the tree go down and thought it was an explosion.

"All of a sudden I heard this explosion and here was this tree in my backyard," she said.

Wells is trying to keep a good sense of humor through it all -- she said maybe she'll get a new fence now.
