Sen. Crapo holding Christmas tree helper contest

BOISE - Idaho Sen. Mike Crapo is holding a statewide contest to pick one Idaho student to light the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree in December.

The multimedia contest is open to students grades first through sixth.

Entries must be original and capture the theme of this year's celebration -- an Idaho Mountain Gem.

They can be anything from an essay or poem to a song, video or piece of artwork.

The selected student will be flown to Washington, D.C. to join the lighting ceremony on the lawn of the U.S. Capitol.

The contest runs through the end of the month.
