Three boys had been shooting various weapons on land north of Alpine Drive in Alfalfa on Thursday evening when the incident occurred.
The extent of the victim’s injury was not released. He was transported to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend.
“…The juvenile who shot the victim acted in a reckless manner which caused an accidental discharge of a firearm striking the victim,” said Lieutenant Kevin Dizney with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office.
The shooter was arrested and lodged at the Deschutes County Juvenile Department on charges of unlawful use of a weapon, negligently wounding another, pointing a firearm at another, and recklessly endangering another person.
The boys’ names were withheld due to their ages. All three are between 15 and 16 years old.
