Deputies had been searching the area after the mother of a 46-year-old Eagle Creek woman reported her missing on Saturday.
The woman’s mother told police that her daughter, who works as a bartender at the Eagle Creek Tavern, never made it home after her shift on Friday night.
Around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, deputies located a truck, similar to the one driven by the missing woman, in the river near SE Kitzmiller Road in Eagle Creek.
Family members told police that the missing woman would often take a similar route to reach her residence, also on Kitzmiller Road.
Due to the high water levels and strong currents, officers were unable to access the truck on Saturday.
On Sunday morning members of the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Unit accompanied by Clackamas County Marine Deputies, returned to the location to resume efforts to confirm the identification of the truck located in the river.
Around noon searchers located the body in a log jam about 100 feet down river from the truck.
Investigators were still working to positively identify the body and confirm that the truck belonged to the missing woman.
