SEATTLE - A lot of us may be wide awake but still dreaming this morning of what to do with $270 million.  It is the fifth largest lottery jackpot in Mega Millions history.

You have until 7:45 p.m. tonight to buy a Mega Millions lottery ticket.  Store owners and employees say the lines have already started.

The chances of actually winning the $270 million prize is 1 in 175 million - but someone has to win, and why not you?

Of course, the winner won't actually get the entire $270 million. The lucky person has a choice of either an annual annuity, which breaks down to about $10 million dollars every year for 26 years, or a lump sum of $164 million.

The extra high pot always seems to bring out more extra ticket buyers.

"People will seem to spend $100 on lottery tickets if it's $270 million, but not if it's a million," said Eric Waterson, who plans to buy a ticket. "They have their standards set. If it's more than $50 million, then they'll spend their money, but not for a million."

Sales for Mega Millions tickets stop at around 7:45 p.m. . Lottery officials will pick the winning numbers at 8 p.m. Friday.
