HILLSBORO -- A 45-year-old transient who robbed a Hillsboro vegetable stand at gunpoint last summer has been sentenced to nearly six years in prison.

Jose Ortiz Saldana, who got mostly coins in the holdup, pleaded guilty to robbery and being a felon in possession of a weapon.

Ortiz also pleaded guilty to unlawful use of a weapon for pointing a gun at a girl who was walking along a Hillsboro street earlier that day.
