BREMERTON, Wash. - One person was killed in an early morning fire at the Illahee Mobile Home Park in Bremerton Saturday morning.
Officials said they are investigating the case as a suspicious death.
Firefighters from Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue and Bremerton Fire Department responded to a 911 call reporting flames shooting out of a single-wide mobile home around 6:10 a.m. Crews arrived to find the home completely engulfed in flames.
The closest fire hydrant required firefighters to lay over 800 feet of hose down a steep drive to reach the home.
Neighbors said one person lived in the home.
The identity of the person who died was not immediately known.
The Kitsap County Fire Marshal's Office said the fire started in the bedroom of the home. The cause is under investigation.
