TROUTDALE, Ore. – A driver led police on a high-speed chase that stretched all the way from Portland to Multnomah Falls Tuesday night.
At times, the suspect reached 100 miles an hour, according to police, who followed him along I-84. For a time, the driver was even going the wrong way on the interstate.
Dispatchers told KGW that police eventually stopped the driver by using spike strips on the interstate.
Both the driver and a passenger in his vehicle were arrested. Police have not said why the driver was fleeing or whether the vehicle was stolen.
The incident began when police tried to pull over the driver for running a stop sign at SE 130th and SE Salmon.
Names have not yet been released.
