SEATTLE -- A man was left with "significant injuries" Thursday morning after setting off a homemade explosive, Renton police said. It was possibly a sparkler bomb.
It happened around 4:25 a.m. in the area of Southeast 176th Street and Petrovitsky Road.
A Renton Fire Department spokesman said it was obvious the man's injuries were from a homemade firework.
The man, in his 20s, was taken to Harborview Medical Center. His condition was not immediately known.
The King County Sheriff’s Bomb Disposal Unit investigated the explosion.
