EVERETT, Wash. -- Four patrol cars -- two city police and two Snohomish County -- were involved in crashes after a stolen car chase in Everett.

Sgt. Robert Goetz says four officers were taken to a hospital. One was treated for two broken wrists and another reportedly suffered some broken fingers. The other two were released.

The incident began early Wednesday around 2:20 a.m. with a deputy chasing a stolen Honda into the city. The driver of the stolen vehicle apparently lost control and crashed into a planter outside the Comcast Events Arena, and the driver tried to flee on foot.

At the same time, a Snohomish County deputy responding to the scene crashed his car into another deputy's parked car at Hewitt and Broadway, sending that car into an Everett Police car.

"The two officers - one deputy and one officer - of the vehicles sitting here together were actually outside their vehicles," said a police spokesperson.

At that same time, another Everett Police Department car was coming from the opposite direction.

"He saw the collision in front of him and attempted to brake to avoid the collision. He made a hard right turn off the roadway to the east and collided slightly with a planter," said the police spokesman.

"I was like, 'Let's get out' because they were just flying," said one witness.

"I said, ''We just better get out of the way right away,'" said another witness. "So that's what we did. It was scary."

Other officers caught the driver of the stolen car. The suspect was wanted for stealing three vehicles and escaping a correctional facility.

Police are investigating.
