A 300-pound bear was killed Wednesday when it was hit by a car near the Pierce County town of Roy.
The bear was hit around 12:30 p.m. in a heavily forested area of SR 507, near milepost 32.
The car that hit the bear came to rest upside down on the side of the road. The driver was not injured.
Washington State Patrol Trooper Guy Gill estimated the bear was about 3-years-old and tweeted two pictures of the animal:

It's not yet known what exactly caused the crash.
