GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) — About 50 wolves have been taken so far in Montana's wolf hunting season.
Carolyn Sime, wolf coordinator for Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks, says the state may reach its quota of 75 by the time the season ends Nov. 29.
This year's gray wolf hunt, which began last month, is the first since the predators were removed from the endangered species list in the spring.
Sime says the latest four wolves taken in the hunt were from two packs along the Rocky Mountain Front.
Three were from the Monitor Mountain Pack and the other was the alpha female from the Bennie Pack.
