BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — A 24-year-old man who tried to rob a convenience store on the Crow Indian Reservation in Montana with a toy gun has been sentenced to three years in federal prison.

Senior U.S. District Judge Jack Shanstrom sentenced Jeremiah P. Stewart, of Crow Agency, on Wednesday.

Stewart pleaded guilty in July to robbery.

Prosecutors say he attempted to rob the store in Crow Agency on Aug. 30, 2006, but was thwarted by a clerk who wrestled with him.
