PORTLAND -- A man dubbed "The Nerdy Bandit" has robbed two American Apparel stores and an Urban Outfitters in Portland, police said.
In each case, the suspect browsed for clothing for several minutes before presenting a note that implied he was armed.
He's accused in the following robberies:
- Oct. 4 at 7:55 p.m. - American Apparel, 3410 SE Hawthorne Blvd.
- Oct. 11 at 8:34 p.m. - American Apparel, 1234 SW Stark St.
- Oct. 13 at 6:30 p.m. - Urban Outfitters, 2320 NW Westover Rd.
The suspect was described as white, in his 20s or early 30s, about 5-foot-10, with a skinny build and brown hair. He wore a different hat in each robbery and black-rimmed glasses.
A witness said he had yellow teeth and was "nerdyish," according to Portland police Sgt. Pete Simpson.
A forensic sketch was released Monday. Crime Stoppers offered a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest in the case.
