SEATTLE -- A Seattle Police cruiser was stolen Thursday afternoon, but officers quickly recovered it and arrested the suspect.
The police are still investigating the incident, but it appears the 35-year-old suspect assaulted a 50-year-old man on a bus near Aurora Avenue and Denny Way.
The suspect fled south on foot through the Battery Street tunnel. When two officers attempted to stop them, the man attacked them, then jumped into a police cruiser and drove off.
Officers chased the man to West Olympic Place and 8th Avenue West where he crashed into a retaining wall.
When police officers took the suspect into custody, he appeared to be intoxicated.
The suspect was injured. The extent of those injuries was not immediately known.
The investigation is ongoing.
