OAK HARBOR, Wash.  -- The Navy plans to move a squadron of electronic attack planes from Joint Base Andrews in Maryland to the Whidbey Island Naval Air Station.

VAQ-209, known as the Star Warriors, would bring four or five planes, 30 officers and 190 enlisted personnel to Oak Harbor.

The squadron recently served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Daily Herald reports that if it comes to Whidbey Island, the squadron would transition from Prowler to new Growler jets.
