SPOKANE — A deer sighting in the Inland Northwest? Not uncommon -- but we don't usually see them bolting through Downtown Spokane.
That's what an STA bus driver saw Wednesday morning. Three deer in area near 1st and Wall streets. (Note to reader: this is where it starts to get sad). One of them leaped over a wall, and plunged 30 feet to a courtyard below. Fish and Game employees reached the animal and found it bleeding with a broken leg. They determined the deer to was too injured to rehabilitate and will have to be put down.
The other two deer apparently made it out of the area.
