HILLSBORO, Ore. -- Hillsboro Police arrested a man on attempted murder charges after a confrontation with his wife in a parking lot Thursday morning.
Around 8 a.m., an argument at Tualatin Valley Workshop escalated with shots fired when the 28-year-old woman wrestled a gun away from her husband, 28-year-old Ignacio Rodriguez Mondragon, Hillsboro Police Lt. Mike Rouches said.
Roches said the woman had "amazing presence of mind" to fire nine rounds from the .22-caliber handgun into the ground before her husband grabbed the gun back from her.
At that point, three men who heard the shots ran up to help and tackled the gun-carrying husband, wrestling him to the ground.
There were no reports of injuries. Police arrived a short time later and took Mondragon into custody.
