BLACK DIAMOND, Wash. – The King County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a body was found in the trunk of a burned-out car on 223rd Avenue SE off Auburn-Black Diamond Road.
Jacob Ramos was driving by just after 4 a.m.
"I saw something glowing down there so I went down checked it out and there was a car on fire,” he said.
Ramos called 911 and went home after firefighters showed up. They put out the flames and then turned the case over to arson investigators, who opened the trunk and found a badly burned body.
“We're looking at everything when you start processing a scene such as this we're photographing and diagramming we're looking for physical evidence at this point,” said Sgt Katie Larson.
“I thought it was some thieves who stole the car and burned it but then found out there was more to the story,” said Ramos. “It’s a little creepy knowing someone can come out into the neighborhood and just do that without caring really.”
It's not known if the body is a man or woman.
