RENTON, WA -- Police are checking a resident's vehicle after armed robbers invaded a Renton, Washington home early Wednesday and said they had rigged the resident's car with explosives.
King County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Cindi West said three armed men broke into the home in the 10200 block of 128th SE just before 7 a.m. Once inside, they stated, "We are looking for something."
The men fired shots out a window of the house, but didn't aim at anything specific. No one was injured.
The men told the resident or residents who lived in the house they had rigged their car with explosives, then fled the scene.
Deputies were checking the homeowners' car for any possible explosives and trying to determine if the attack was random.
Meanwhile, deputies are escorting nearby residents who voluntarily want to evacuate the area during their investigation.
