PORT ANGELES, Wash. – A Port Angeles fugitive who taunted police via his Facebook page was arrested Monday morning, Port Angeles Police say.

Officers responded to a residence on the 500 block of East 12th Street in Port Angeles after receiving information that Travis A. Nicolaysen was "hiding" in the residence.

With the assistance of the Clallam County Sheriff's Department, the Washington State Department of Corrections, and members of the US Marshal's Fugitive Task Force, officers and investigators surrounded the home.

They were allowed entry into the home and Nicolaysen was taken into custody without incident.

He was transported to the Clallam County Jail and booked on his outstanding felony warrants. Additional felony charges are pending.

Nicolaysen had been on the lam since two foot chases on April 5 and a dragnet that included a police dog tracking him through a Port Angeles neighborhood.

His first day on the run, one friend of Nicolaysen posted to his account: "Cops all over you." Nicolaysen responded the next day with: "ya got away thanks bro."

Nicolaysen has been convicted of five felonies, including domestic violence, burglary and theft of a firearm, police said. He was wanted by the Washington state Department of Corrections for failing to check in with his community corrections officer since January.
