CATALDO, Idaho-- Emergency crews transported six people to local hospitals after a young driver collided with a moose in Cataldo.
The 14-year-old boy was headed westbound on I-90 around 9:15 p.m. when a moose walked onto the road.
The driver attempted to avoid it but collided with the animal. The moose’s head went straight through the windshield and into the passenger side of the of the 1993 Cadillac Deville.
Four of the five passengers, including two five-year-old boys, suffered injuries. The driver escaped unharmed. Medics took one of the five year olds to Sacred Heart in Spokane. The driver and the other passengers were taken to Shoshone Medical Center.
Three of the passengers were adults.
