BOISE -- In preparation for the 13th annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Boise, the local affiliate is currently gathering sponsorships.
We are proud to announce that KTVB, along with Peak Broadcasting, is a media partner for the 2011 event.
Last May, around 16,500 people participated in the 2010 Race for the Cure.
This year, Executive Director Hilarie Engle hopes to get even more people. She's shooting for 17,000!
Another goal for the Boise affiliate of Susan G Komen Race for the Cure is to raise more money to help local women in the education and prevention of breast cancer.
"We really want to focus on our fundraising goal and our goal is to eventually grant out over $1 million to our 19-county service area," said Engle.
The 2001 Race for the Cure will be on May 7, with participant registration beginning at the end of January.
