Secret Service rushes Trump off stage in Reno

RENO, NEV. - Donald Trump was rushed off stage by the Secret Service during a rally in Nevada but returned within minutes.

The Republican nominee had been speaking to supporters in Reno for a while when a disturbance broke out in the crowd close to the podium.

Two Secret Service agents quickly surrounded Trump, then hustled him off stage.

The nature of the disturbance was unclear. But several security officials escorted a man out of the venue soon afterward.

With some attendees at the Reno event recording the incident on their phones, law-enforcement officials quickly brought the situation under control and officers were seen leading one man out of the event. Some of those in attendance told a pool reporter from The Washington Post that the man had a gun, but there has been no confirmation.

Upon his return, Trump thanked the Secret Service.

He told the crowd: "Nobody said it was going to be easy for us. But we will never be stopped. Never ever be stopped."

Idaho First Lady Lori Otter and other Idaho Trump supporters were just 20 feet from Trump when he was rushed off stage, Trump For Idaho director Layne Bangerter said Saturday on his Facebook page. Otter was just leaving Reno on a flight back to Boise Saturday night when KTVB contacted her, and she could not immediately elaborate on her experience.

Trump had four rallies on his schedule for Saturday - Reno was the third. He is wrapping up the evening with a rally in Denver, Colorado.
