Little signs order to streamline occupational licensing

BOISE - Acting Governor Brad Little has issued an executive order directing a review of Idaho's occupational licensing requirements.

Right now, those state licensing requirements apply to a wide range of occupations including contractors, cosmetologists and counselors, just to name a few.

The Licensing Freedom Act directs state agencies to assess whether the requirements are necessary or if they should be changed or eliminated altogether.

The goal is to streamline the process and make it easier for people to do business.

The order requires the agencies to submit reports to the governor's office no later than July 1st of next year.
