Because this election is solely focused on taxing districts, you'll find races for leadership positions on school and highway boards, as well as levy requests from various districts, including school, fire and library, just to name a few.

Below you will find a county-by-county look at the races and requests on ballots across southwestern and central Idaho.

Important dates:

  • May 5 - Last day for mail-in absentee ballot application
  • May 12 - Last day for in-person absentee voting and early voting (Find out more about early voting in Ada County and Canyon County)
  • May 16 - Election Day. Polls open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Last day to return absentee ballots to county clerk by 8 p.m.

The existing district is authorized to levy property taxes not to exceed $0.40 per thousand dollars of assessed value, or $40.00 per $100,000 assessed value. Beginning January 1st, 2018 based on assessed values as of January 1, 2018. Any levy certified by the district for 2018 would be billed in November, 2018. Shall the cemetery district, known as "Hazelton Cemetery Maintenance District" annex the proposed land into the existing cemetery district?

Shall the board of directors (the "Board") of the Payette Lakes Recreational Water and Sewer District, Valley County, Idaho (the "Districf') be authorized to issue and sell negotiable revenue bonds of said District in the principal amount not to exceed $22,070,000.00 (the "Bonds") for the purpose of financing: (i) the design, acquisition and construction of certain capital improvements to the District's post-annexation wastewater treatment system and water reuse system, including construction of a new water reuse pipeline (collectively, the "System"), and (ii) the acquisition by the District of City of McCall (the "City") wastewater system assets and, in connection therewith, provide funds to retire the City's outstanding obligations with respect to the Idaho Bond Bank Authority Revenue Bonds, Series 2004A and Idaho Bond Bank Authority Revenue Bonds, Series 2008B; and to pay expenses properly incident thereto including costs of issuance of the Bonds, said Bonds due in such installments as fixed by the Board, the last installment due and payable not more than twenty-five (25) years from the date of the Bonds, as more fully provided in Resolution No. 2017-2 adopted by the Board on March 22, 2017, provided however that the Board shall be empowered to issue the Bonds pursuant to this authorization only upon the effectiveness of the annexation of the existing McCall wastewater service area into the District?
