Idaho's 4 GOP electors receiving pressure to sway from Trump

BOISE, Idaho (AP) - Idaho Secretary of State Lawerence Denney says the state's four Republican presidential electors have been bombarded with phone calls and emails from advocates across the country urging them not to cast their vote for Donald Trump.

Denney said that some of the phone calls could be considered harassment, but the electors have not reported these calls to the police.

Americans voted for the president on Election Day, but they really cast votes for each state's electors, who will decide the next president on Dec. 19.

In Idaho, the winner of the state's popular vote gets all of the state's electors. However, there is no penalty - unlike in some states - if electors vote for a different candidate. These are known as so-called "faithless electors."
