Donahue re-elected as Canyon County Sheriff

CALDWELL -- Canyon County Sheriff Kieran Donahue scored a resounding win over his challenger Election Day.

The Republican incumbent won re-election with 49,266 votes, nearly 75 percent of the ballot. His opponent Robert Muse, a Nampa bailbondsman and member of the Constitutional Party, received 16,511 votes.

Donahue has spent 12 years with the Canyon County Sheriff's Department. He has been an outspoken proponent of security upgrades at the Canyon County Jail after a rash of recent escapes.
