POCATELLO, Idaho -- Connie Hansen, the wife of former Idaho Congressman George Hansen, has died. She was 79.
Relatives say she died Tuesday surrounded by friends and family at Quail Ridge Assisted Living in Pocatello.
Hansen was born in Arkansas and settled with her husband George in Pocatello after they married in 1952.
When George was elected to Congress in the early 1960s, they relocated to Virginia where she was active in political campaigns and as a volunteer. She was also a businesswoman, and owned and operated a printing and copying business in Pocatello.
The couple returned to Idaho in the 1990s.
She is survived by her husband George; sons Steven, James and William; daughters Patricia and Joanne; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
