BOISE -- A state senator from eastern Idaho finds himself in trouble with the law today.
Edgar Malepeai, 59, was arrested by Boise Police for driving under the influence. He was booked into the Ada County Jail at 1:46 a.m. Thursday. He has since bonded out and been released.
The Democratic senator from Pocatello was in Boise Wednesday to attend a task force created by Gov. Butch Otter to address transportation issues.
The senator took time off from the 2008 and 2009 legislative session while his wife battled a rare form of cancer. Brenda Malepeai, 57, died in March.
