BOISE -- Idaho Gov. Butch Otter says first lady Lori Otter dislocated her shoulder while calf roping at a rodeo in Oregon and faces surgery.

Otter spokesman Jon Hanian says the mishap occurred in mid-August on the couple's anniversary. Hanian says the first lady had just roped a calf when her shoulder became dislocated.

The Spokesman-Review reports that Otter revealed the injury last week during the opening of his annual Address to the Business Community.

Otter told the crowd of 600 that after the injury they went to a hospital where the doctor put his foot on the first lady's armpit and jerked on the arm to put her shoulder back in place.

The governor says he couldn't get away with doing that.
