BOISE, Idaho -- Idaho Rep. Mike Simpson faces another challenge from Republican Marvin "Chick" Heileson in the 2nd District Congressional primary.
Simpson won 58 percent to 24 percent in the 2010 GOP primary.
But Heileson is making another go, with a similar campaign that outlines his libertarian-leaning philosophy.
Heileson charges that Simpson has become an embarrassment to Idaho for votes like supporting the 2008 bank bailout.
Simpson counters his 14 years in Congress give him the experience to tackle vexing problems: Reducing the national debt, looming expiration of tax cuts, a crisis at Medicaid.
Simpson says Idaho needs serious legislators willing to make tough decisions, but also work across party lines, not an ideologue who would divide politics further.
They debate Sunday at 7 p.m. on Idaho Public TV.
