BOISE -- When it comes to the safety of the state's airport towers, we've learned that both Idaho Senators Mike Crapo and Jim Risch are co-sponsoring a measure that could keep air traffic controllers in towers.

The new bipartisan measure would redirect federal transportation funding to keep towers, such as the Friedman Memorial Airport in Hailey, staffed.

Crapo and Risch argue federal officials have the ability to redirect existing funding-- but are instead --quote-- "playing politics."
