BOISE -- The new Consul for Mexico joined up with Boise Police Department and Olympic gold medalist Kristin Armstrong Monday for a bike ride around town.
Guillermo Ordorica, a former Olympic cyclist for Mexico, says the ride was a way to bring the consulate to the community.
It was also a way to learn what Boise bike patrol officers do in a typical work day.
"Of course I'm always thinking of the Mexican community here, and also the idea of strengthening cooperation with them, which they're very nice guys and we appreciate very much the work they do," said Ordorica.
Ordorica, who is a biking enthusiast in his own right, says it was nice to meet Armstrong because she is a such a wonderful role model, especially to kids.
