BOISE -- A local race is decided by the toss of a coin.
The outcome of a Republican committee race from last week's primary was finally decided Tuesday morning.
The two candidates running for Precinct 1915 both received 22 votes, and according to state law, a coin toss decides the winner.
The coin toss happened at 10 a.m. at the Ada County clerk’s office.
Both candidates -- Brock Frazier and Roger Brown – were on hand to witness the toss.
Ada County Clerk Christopher Rich asked Brock Frazier to pick. He chose tails, and tails it was.
"I'm very appreciative very thankful for the people who voted for me, obviously I mean, I needed all of them," said Frazier.
In his new position as the 1915 Precinct committeeman, Frazier will help to select delegates to the Republican Party convention and assist with other party functions.
Roger Brown, who lost the coin toss, says he wishes he could have done more to win but appreciates the vote and support he received.
