BOISE -- The mayor of Caldwell is recovering at a Boise hospital after undergoing what city officials describe as a "minor" surgical procedure.
They declined to say what type of surgery Mayor Garret Nancolas underwent last week, but say it was a scheduled operation.
Nancolas underwent the procedure on July 9 at West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell, but has since been moved to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise for recovery.
City Council President Jim Blacker says he saw Nancolas at the hospital on Saturday and said he was in good spirits and did not show signs of discomfort.
No word yet on when the mayor will return to work. Blacker will run tonight's council meeting in his absence.
